Thorns 05:04
I live in a body surrounded by thorns They wrap around limbs and they sound a dull horn wherever I stand and wherever I fall they cut from under my skin and I crawl I watch as a deer, looking into the light Gets struck by an arrow, it must have struck right her knees they have buckled and her heart it is racing the herd it has left and the lions are pacing I look in her eyes and I see all the signs I see where her courage resides and resigns Oh how helplessly she waits to die her breathing it slows as she watches me walk on by Bye I ask you Thorn in my side The poison tip spreads but what does it hide? is it too late or should I still try? But something about about how I obey the moon Is instructing my feet to turn back to her doom And when I return I lay down by her side It isn’t too late, finally I have realized

Temporary Me 04:52
I don't want to start making a big deal About what is sitting in my mind But i want to pay my dues in heaven With slips of hell that i find I don't want to be what's standing Between you and what is true I don't want to increase your affection For that feeling of being used So I'll try to sit tight I will try to just be A useful fixture in your life now A temporary me I don't wanna be too much now To fit inside your nook you made Since my heart started to wither It feels like i take up so much space So I’ll hang on to the walls now ‘Cause I don’t know what else to do It feels like we’re gonna slip now From a temporary you So I will try to sit tight Let the spoon come up to feed I'll try not to remember You are everything that i need You are everything that i need You are everything that i need You are everything that i need I’m not everything that you need I’m not everything that you need
3.
Believe Her 04:20
Woman you come to me Hoping for answers Crying for help From something that’s like cancer But I look inside you I search for invaders Probably your own heart Is the real traitor You say that you feel touched Affected all over But all that i see Is a scratch on your shoulder You swear that he crossed you Your boundaries are broken Why not say no then To games of red rover Based on the actions From what I can see You're overreacting The world's looking perfect to me He was a good man From a good family That he would do bad things Is so hard to believe Believe Look round the corner There's nobody coming Now open your mouth wide And take this for numbing Listen to silence There's nobody screaming If your ears are pounding Girl you must be dreaming He said “All that I'm seeing Is just not that bad You should be thankful For all that you have You are a good girl With a good family You're overreacting And you're hard to believe Believe Hard to believe When I don't see” You never give up Well turns out it happened You took down a man on his throne With your passion For truth and redemption How can we repay you? Just keep an eye on kings So they don’t play you And believe me

All I’m askin for All I’m lookin for All I’m searchin for Is a place to rest my head It’s in the walls and floors Even behind closed doors It’s in my lungs before I was my mother’s child It’s in the sprouting seed Be careful what you breathe What secrets wind carries And mutes you when you’re wild All I’m askin for All I’m cryin for All I’m singin for Is a place to rest my head All I’m askin for All I’m cryin for All I’m singin for Is a place to rest my head Is safety in my bed Is love not hate instead

In the morning A light will be shining Finally with timing They’ll have time for you No more wastin Your heart will glisten Finally they’ll listen To your point of view We’ll grab their attention The things that they forgot to mention The things we already know Look girl now, you made em Reconnect with things they were estranged from The sun and earth - we told them so In the morning With patience we’ll be free now This is a patient’s dream now They’re coming through It may be years Before our cries reach the right ears But when they do, I will cry for you The day we Get recognition And don’t need any man’s permission We’ll know just what to do Can you feel it? No more drownin I’m shouting high above the mountains I feel it, I’m healin too In the morning A light will be shining Finally with timing They’ll have time for you It may be years Before our cries reach the right ears But when they do, I will cry for you The day we Get recognition And don’t need any man’s permission We’ll know just what to do Can you feel it? No more drownin I’m shouting high above the mountains I feel it, I’m healin too

The Undertow 03:43
I know that it's been nice to see A tiny glimpse of what I'd be If we had made it to that beach But I can feel it pulling me A tug of something at my feet I knew we weren't out of the weeds So soak it in before I leave I'm going down, stay in the trees No you can't go don't follow me So here I go Here I go I hope you know I'll be back from the undertow Have hope Before I go now let me breathe A gulp of love and keep it clean hold on dear lungs and heart please beat deep It may be easy to lose sight The horizon looks just like a line But I will surface back in time So here I go Here I go I hope you know I'll be back from the undertow Have hope I will be back in victory Over this disease I have to believe So here I go Here I go I hope you know I'll be back from the undertow Have hope Before I go now, now, now...leave

about

Hi. I've been laying down on pillows for a long time because I'm sick, and I believe everyone deserves to be able to afford healthcare. - KPH

You can purchase this EP for $4 here on Bandcamp, but the PREFERRED option is for you to saunter on over to patreon.com/kph and pledge $1 or more on Patreon, which will sustain Kaeley's years-long medical treatment with monthly support. Kaeley will send you a free bandcamp download code after you pledge. You will not only get the "Hi From Pillows" EP to download but you will also get access to scores of songs she posted in 2016 too! It's like a subscription service for Kaeley's body working enough to do music.

Why: Once upon a time, Kaeley was struck by an arrow of illness and was suddenly too sick to work. Insurance companies and doctors did not catch her when she fell - community did. She still needs $1,000/month to keep her body upright amidst nervous system malfunction. She recorded some songs from bed, some in studio thanks to friends' help, and decided to ask people to pledge to sustain her work for $1 or more per month on Patreon in exchange for some tunes.
