Here are some of the songs that were on repeat in my car CD player during high school, around 2006-ish. This album is for you, friends who gave me mix CDs for the road to trip to college, for my college acapella group "UpTop" who had a lot to do with a lot of these songs being cemented in my heart, friends who are rocking babies to sleep now, friends who are stuck in bed with painsomnia. I meant to record these so that you feel like I am serenading you by your bedside, if that's not creepy to imagine. These songs were recorded in my non-toxic trailer bubble, huddled next to space heaters in the desert while trying to save my own life, so I guess they were for me too. Musical comfort food.
I took some liberties with the lyrics so as to make it appropriate for kids in case you do choose to use this as a lullaby CD for a babe.
